How Manta keeps logging with the phone locked, and what helps on long days.

While a recording runs, Manta keeps working in the background and shows a Live Activity on the Lock Screen with speed, distance and quick actions for engine, tack, gybe and anchor.

If a recording stops

  • Keep Location set to “Always” for Manta.
  • Don't force-quit the app while recording. If iOS ends it anyway, Manta picks the trip up again on its next start.
  • Low Power Mode can slow down updates on the Lock Screen.

Battery

GPS recording uses power over a long day. A charger on board or a power bank keeps you on the safe side.
